Scope note
Mortar joints over which a metal jointer blade with a beaded extrusion has been run, causing a flush joint having a depressed line or channel running through the center of the joint. This style of joint is often seen in historical buildings, such as in American Colonial works. The lines in the mortar are generally wavy rather than perfectly straight, creating a slightly irregular effect resembling a grapevine.
